Sometimes when I’m speaking on a panel with other writers, the question of inspiration will come up - as in, what inspires you to write? Im always interested in the answers to this question. I just listened to an interview of Octavia Butler and when the interviewer asked her this question- “why become a writer?” She responded, “It was either that or die.” Whew.
I’m working on my MA in Counseling at 52 years old and I’m finding it invigorating! I love writing too and this entire process is greasing the gears of creativity again. So excited you’re working on a new project, can’t wait to read!
I’m writing a book on racism from my white point of view as a “privileged” guy. Our experience has been incredibly good as we have been accepted and loved over a period of 57 years. We are a biracial family now numbering 30 colorful people. I’m writing to hope help white folks understand the true history of why we are in this racial divide still!

Yes, it is either write or die. It's not always a choice.
Thanks so much for your work! I'm still grateful for your wisdom from "I'm Still Here." Excited for the next one too... enjoy the writing!
