Today I went to pick up my little boy from daycare. All the kids ran out to meet their parents. I was standing with the moms of my son’s best friends. We are the three musketeers desperately trying to corral our boys off the playground and convince them that dinner is also important. Today one of the boys ran out of the school and into his mothers arms. He then looked up at her adoringly and said, “Oh, Mom, you’re wearing *that shirt* again?” She then proceeded to die of embarrassment.
And I just want to say that I am so impressed that we are wearing shirts at all. I mean, after surviving a whole pandemic that lasted years longer than it should have, here we are leaving our homes with clothes on. Let’s asses all the things we could be wearing: pajamas, robes, or pajamas that are clearly pajamas but we decided maybe they also look like *loungewear* as long as we are only out in public for a “quick dash”. We could be wearing track suits (yes track suits) to cover said pajamas, nighties or tank tops. But no. Here we are showing up in actual shirts that often require bras of some sort. And not just any shirt… but a shirt that can be worn more than once! Kid- I made it through a day without spilling anything on this t-shirt. I was able to do the smell test and didn't faint at the result. There are no new tears, holes, and the stickers you handed me yesterday have all fallen off.
Listen. Wearing your shirt *again* is an ACCOMPLISHMENT! And I just want to applaud you.

I love your words! I just started wearing bras and showering again. But I've pretty much given up on shaving. Who needs it?!?
