I don’t normally show up in your inbox on a Sunday, but I am in the thick of book launch season and could use your support. In less than 4 weeks, my young readers edition of I’m Still Here releases into the world. And while I am both THRILLED and filled with excitement about what this book will do, I also need to ask you to do one thing for me.

It might be tempting to look at my social media following and think that support is overwhelming and rolling right in. But friends, while there is so much I’m grateful for, there is still so much I’m up against - algorithms that show my posts to a small percentage of my followers - to start. Now I’ve decided long ago that numbers will not be defining success for me, ok? But just like I believed in my little green book (the original I’m Still Here), I believe in my little ombre book too. I heeded the words of Toni Morrison when I wrote, “If there's a book that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it.” I needed this book in 6th grade.
